Answer:

Answer by LDNeye
It’s true, the mockingbird is a symbol. The saying in the book says, “its a sin to kill a mockingbird.” because all it does is sing and is innocent. It is a symbol for an innocent person in the book.

Question: Does the book “Fiddle Time Joggers” show the fingering positions?
I have never played the violin before and want to know if Fiddle Time Joggers has a page that shows the finger positions for the notes.

Answer:

Answer by Seryph
Unfortunately every violin is slightly different so just a picture will not be able to tell you where the exact position of each note would be, on top of that a violin is fretless so that makes it even harder.

Thankfully there is a really easy way to find out the exact fingering for your violin, and learn to play beautifully, its called a music teacher. A violin teacher will be able to help you with this problem and the many more you will encounter over the years of learning to play you have ahead of you.

“Fiddle Time Joggers” is a very useful early book and well worth the purchase, but remember to take it to your teacher to look at.

Question: Suggest some cello and/or piano pieces about animals?
My cellist friend and I (a pianist) are going to put on a “benefit concert for animals”, and we would like to play a program based on animals – the two of us will play The Swan together, and I will play “Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks” from Pictures at an Exhibition.
Can you suggest pieces either for cello and piano, unaccompanied cello, or solo piano that have an animal theme?

Answer:

Answer by Paul Green
You could always do the rest of the Carnival of the Animals or try to pull parts out of Swan Lake. The Elephant (Carnival) is always nice for the cello.
Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks is easily my favorite animal piece, though.
